That’s not a box of garbage in my son’s room…

recyclable crafting
Well, it is… but not because we’re too lazy to take out the trash. This is Paolo’s building box. He can make towers to play Angry Birds, create new buildings and vehicles out of boxes and coffee cans, or make a new landscape for his monster trucks to crush. The possibilities are endless. It makes the OCD part of me cry a little inside, but I remember how much fun my brother and I had building new things out of recyclables. I want him to have the same opportunities for unstructured play as we did.

Must-haves for your own box of garbage:

  • tape, both masking and scotch
  • scissors
  • toilet paper tubes
  • shoe boxes
  • egg cartons
  • cereal boxes
  • any other recyclables without sharp edges (no cans)
  • BIG imagination

Happy Building!
