Do it and like it!

“But Mommy, I don’t want to do the things you want me to do.”

Ah, Christmas…a time of crafts, baking, family, decorating, music, wrapping, and…shouting.  I had to make my son participate in making ornaments this morning. Ornaments that involved water, construction paper, blenders and glitter. How could he not want to dig in? Once he started slopping the paper pulp into the cookie cutters and sprinkling glitter everywhere, he was into it, but there was wheedling, whining, begging, guilting and a little shouting required to get to that point (and that was just me). Not the Christmas memories I’d like to leave him with. I’m hoping making gingerbread men/women cookies go more smoothly.
